PHYSICAL THERAPY & ORTHOPAEDIC MANUAL PHYSICAL THERAPY (OMPT)

Your personal physical therapy begins with a comprehensive evaluation of functional limitations and areas of pain. A treatment plan based on your work-related needs and goals will then be designed in order to help you return to all normal functional activities as soon as possible. When you are ready for discharge, you will receive a personalized home exercise program to allow you to stay healthy and further enhance your rehabilitation.

Our physical therapy services include a variety of treatment techniques including manual therapy, electrotherapy, laser therapy, strength and conditioning, McKenzie method of the spine, BOBATH, soft tissue mobilization, neurological conditions assessment and treatment etc.

Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) is a specialised area of physiotherapy for the management of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, based on clinical reasoning, using highly specific treatment approaches including manual techniques and therapeutic exercises. Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy also encompasses, and is driven by, the available scientific and clinical evidence and the biopsychosocial framework of each individual patient.

Our specialized OMT staff, using their knowledge in manual therapy, will assess, diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain, increasing range of motion (ROM), reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation, inducing relaxation, improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability, facilitating movement and improving function.

A member of our physiotherapists team, will perform a clinical examination, establish a diagnosis, and educate the patient on the source of their problems that relate to musculoskeletal disorders, neurophysiological conditions, and or sensorimotor dysfunctions that are static or dynamic contributors to the patient's complaints. We embark on a comprehensive management program that addresses the patient's symptoms and dysfunctions, with the ultimate goal of producing a healing response and return to function. It appears that patients from different groups will respond to different treatment combinations, where patients with acute and subacute conditions benefit most from education, OMPT, and simple exercises that reduce pain and prevent symptom recurrence.
